Rex Ryan was a Fantastic Entertainer, but Inconsistent Head Coach
The Buffalo Bills let go of their head coach Rex Ryan on Tuesday with three years left on his contract after a couple of disappointing seasons in which the Bills missed the playoffs once again, running the team's missed playoffs streak to 17 years.
It's a shame that the Bills didn't give Rex more time with the Bills, considering how fascinating a personality he was an NFL coach. The vast majority of NFL coaches talk give the media as little substance as they can about their players, their game plans, and their true feelings about most topics.
The gruff and brief football coach archetype is most personified by New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick.
