TCU women’s golfer Annika Clark qualified for a spot in the 2017 U.S. Women’s Amateur Golf Tournament at a qualifying tournament Monday in Flower Mound, Texas. She has now qualified for the tournament for the second year in a row.
She finished tied for first at Bridlewood Golf Club with a 3-under-par 69. The rising junior and Highlands, Texas native recorded consecutive birdies on the fifth and sixth holes. Clark also birdied the sixteenth and eighteenth holes.

“I am really honored to have qualified with such a competitive field,” Clark said. “Having seven people shoot three under to get in is something I’ve never seen before.”

Clark’s family and friends, especially one of her parents, played a role in her successful outing at Bridlewood.

“I was really lucky to have my dad as my caddy and to have a few supporters come out to watch,” Clark said. “My dad and I worked well together, which led to some great pars and birdies.” Read More
